How It All Started

Bloom and Thread began long before it had a name. Fourteen years ago, my sister-in-law and I started arranging flowers for parties — just two creative minds discovering the joy of designing with nature. We quickly fell in love with the artistry of floral design: the colors, the textures, and the beauty of creating something with our hands that brought happiness to others.

A few years later, while visiting a charming linen and home goods store in Carmel, California, I stumbled upon custom embroidery — and it was love at first sight. The detailed stitching, the personalization, the way everyday linens could become meaningful keepsakes… I was captivated. I bought my first embroidery machine 10 years ago, full of excitement for this new creative outlet.

But life had its own beautiful and busy plans. Raising four kids in just 4½ years meant embroidery had to wait. Family came first, and those years were filled with memories I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Now, with a little more time and a whole lot of passion, I’m finally diving into the world of custom embroidery — combining it with my long-standing love for floral design. Bloom and Thread is the result: a place where creativity grows, craftsmanship matters, and every piece is made with heart.
